ABOUT THE GRACE TRYBE
OUR HISTORY
The Grace Trybe stands as an international Bible-believing church, deeply rooted in the transformative power of faith and community. Its inception stemmed from a pivotal decision made by Omar and Jane Pela in September 1997, prompted by a divine calling to serve and uplift humanity. Responding to the unmistakable directive from above, they founded the multifaceted Saints Foundation International, with its church arm known as House of Grace, now recognized as The Grace Trybe.
From its modest beginnings, The Grace Trybe has blossomed into a vibrant ministry headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, with branches spanning three continents, including the United States, England, and Nigeria, collectively touching the lives of thousands. The genesis of this branch was marked by the late Pastor (Dr.) Ona Pela’s (1950 – 2007) unwavering obedience to the divine call, notwithstanding initial hesitations. Influenced by profound conviction and a series of miraculous events, Pastor Ona embraced his destiny, laying the groundwork for the expansion and influence of The Grace Trybe.
At the heart of The Grace Trybe’s mission lies an unchanging vision: to raise individuals who embody the essence of divine expression. This unwavering vision underscores the ministry’s commitment to nurturing believers who authentically reflect the character and love of God.
This vision finds expression through The Grace Trybe, a non-denominational congregation dedicated to walking in the footsteps of Christ and extending grace to all. The ministry’s outreach efforts, aligned with this vision, aim to deliver essential training, education, and community services in fulfillment of its objectives.
Formally commissioned as a local church on April 6, 2005, The Grace Trybe received a mandate to empower individuals worldwide, particularly within local communities. Rooted in a diverse community of believers unified in their devotion to Christ, the church has experienced remarkable growth from its inception as a humble house fellowship, transcending denominational boundaries.
As The Grace Trybe continues to evolve and expand, it remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering believers and spreading the transformative message of grace. With anticipation for the future, the church embraces the journey ahead, knowing that the best is yet to come.
